It was that time of year again. The Protec Pool Party 2010. This year the list of participants was very exclusive, perfectly fitting Embassy Team Captain Ken Fillion was in the mix. It was a good time as usual. Seeing Grosso, Lance, and the Master of Disaster, Duane Peters this year was sick. All 3 had an impact in the outcome. Grosso’s 28 block boardslide was TOTAL sickness. Duane threw it down Old School. His frontside rocker’s were Classic Stlye. Congrats to Stevie Caballero for taking the Master’s, He deserved it. Bucky Lasek took the Pro’s division for the 2nd year in a row. HE THREW IT DOWN!!! The level of skating was 100% top shelve. Big EMBASSY shout out to fellow Texan’s Ben Raybourn and Bryan Pennington, you cats represented STRONG, from Josh Rodriguez to Pedro Barros, to Cara Beth holding her own with the Master’s. On any given day the results might have been different, since it’s always subjective to who’s judging, what era they come from, and what their looking for. Van Doren summed it all up at the skater rider’s meeting, “THIS IS A PARTY” he said. We’re all here to have FUN. Yeah, the competition is heated, yes you’d all like to win the money, but we’re here to have a party and a good time. With that said Props out to Steve Van Doren & the whole Van’s Staff, The World Cup, Don Bostick, Dave Duncan, Jenn, everybody involved. It just gets better and better.
