Bands, Beers and Vert were on hand for this years 1st ever “Shut up and Rumble”. What was made out of a tradition going back to the ’80′s Shut Up and Skate and adding the vibe of the Rumble in Ramona, this is what you get. It was a good time for all who attended. Although we didn’t have Grosso wearing the stripes ready to penalize someone for not doing it proper, We didn’t have the Creature’s Vert Vampire holding it all down (We missed you Darren) or a T-Mag episode. What we did have was a 2 day event full of Vert session’s that brought out the likes of Justin Lynch, Henry Gutierrez, Neal Hendrix, Jake Brown, Chris Gentry, Ben Johnson, Josh Staford, Adam Effertz, Troy Chason and a host of other shredders. Everybody killed it for two day’s. Vert, Vert, and more Vert. Troy’s “Axe Murderer” was 100% PUNK ROCK. Chris Russell threw it down like a man, but when he witness Troys signature trick, he almost shit his pants, “WHAT WAS THAT”. The mini-Ramp jams were intense with a SIK game of “Add-a-Trick”. A Saturday night indoor street course session was on hand once the Texas sunset laid it’s hands upon us. Raney Beres stole the show with his air to wall ride around the corner. It was a session of (taking a caption from Dave Duncan) Criss-Cross-Craziness. Mike Crum’s Overground Project has a great future ahead. The bands ripped it up all day, and there was no shortage of beers. It was truly a Texas Vibe surrounding the place. Gary Morris had his tattoo equipment on hand, so the ink was flowing. Billy Smith was on hand to MC the Embassy Sponsored Mini Ramp Jam. No contest just bucks for tricks. Tyler Martin was the last man standing when it was all said and done. Edward Sanchez took home some cash for best trick, blunt-heelflip-to-fakie on the extension. Todd Prince was on his best behavior for about 30 minutes, but that’s another story. Tex Gibson was on hand showing little Luke how to drop in the mini (“Luke..I am your father, trust me”). Gentry had a car headlight session, he did Rodeo’s in the dark!! Party @ Craig’s house to close the Saturday & Sunday night’s festivities. All in all it was a good’ole Texas throw down, Hopefully next year it will be 4 times bigger!!!! Embassy wants to give it up for ALL that represented, to Henry Gutierrez and Glenn for making it out. To the Overground Project crew, Crum, Ollie, Val. It’s good to see the Texas Vibe is alive and well. Thanks to Craig & Kelly for the yard space. Time for a Bloody Mary!

Embassy would like to give a HUGE TEXAS welcome to Nilo Pecanha from Rio de Janerio, Brazil. He’s STOKED to join the Embassy squad. Nilo is no stranger to Bowl’s, Pool’s or Vert Ramp’s. He’s a veteran tranny skater and skates EVERYDAY. He has mad style and kills it everywhere he goes. He learned how to skate in the streets of Sao Paulo, learning to skate regular foot, Later he adapted to the tranny and started skating Goofy-foot. Brazilians are always switching it up. MAD SKILLS. He loves going on road trips in his native Brazil from Sao Paulo to Rio, Nilo and his friends are always looking for a place to shred. He went on his first World Cup European Tour earlier this year. He’ll be on the tour again in 2012. Look for him to be joining the rest of the Embassy Squad on the road for future event’s, demo’s, contest, and just sharing the vibe of keeping it real. SKATE FOR FUN!!!

The 2nd leg of the Dew Tour was loaded up and took 7 Semi’s to transport the goods. The Concrete bowl designed by Chris Miller was placed in the Rose Garden parking lot in Portland Oregon. Embassy had Ben Johnson and Gary Morris participating in the Bowl contest. Gary ripped it up like always, but couldn’t put it all together to make the cut. On the other hand Ben killed and missed the cut by one. The guys were geared up to skate Pier Park, West Linn and the other parks in the area. Mark Partain and Pat Black were on hand to represent the Master’s division. The permits for West Linn were revoked, so the West Linn date had to be switched to Dave Tobins bowl, That turned out to be a killer session with a good time. Congrats to Bucky Lasek for winning the Bowl Dew Tour, to Kevin Kowalski for winning Pier Park. Lance Mountain took the prize in the Master’s @ Pier Park. Chris Miller took home som spending money for the Master’s jam @ DewTour. Wednesday was a fun day at Mark Partains Mini-mini-Mega and a full on Hood River Session. Embassy would like to thank EVERYBODY who contributed to the mayhem, and the hospitality. Overall it was a fun packed week of Thrills and Spills. Next stop is the Tim Brauch in San Jose, CA. in late September. Until then rip it up! RIDE WITH PRIDE

Lash LaRue comes from the streets of Texas and beyond. Being a part of the street crew for ZORLAC in the ’80′s. He was shipped off to war during Iraqi Freedom. Lash likes to say “Skateboarding and our Military represent FREEDOM”. Lash was a commando, a part of the 101st Airbourn. He’s decorated from head to toe. His military career was cut short due to Schrapnel to the head from 2 IED hits. He is recovered, he is skating as much as he can. He has formed the Arizona Embassy Chapter. This is our tribute to Lash LaRue

There’s a song that say’s, Gimmie the sound of a rolling dice, Gimmie a Whiskey, don’t think Twice, Deal me the card that’ll take my blues away… TAKE ME AWAY to MARSEILLE!!! Marseille, France was the place to be. The World Cup Skateboarding European tour kicked off June 23-27 on the historical Marseille, France concrete bowl that was build over 20 years ago. Embassy was packing Steven Pineiro and Ben Johnson on the trip over the pond. Steven & Ben both made the qualifier on Friday. 48 skaters were scheduled to rip it up in hopes of making the 24 man cut. Ben ripped it to come in 10th, and Pineiro scored a 6th overall. On Saturday it was a different story. Ben had beaten himself up attempting a crowd pleasing invert on the 4 foot vert extention wall in the best trick contest. He made it on his 3rd try. Steven won 4 best tricks on a Blunt-to-fakie, a heel flip body jar were the highlights. On Saturday all 24 skaters came to the park with a mission in tow. The Orange Freestyle Cup has taken off where the Quiksilver Soul Bowl left off. This is the biggest bowl comp in France. The people came out to support. The locals had a killer vibe. We think we have it made here in the States, France has it going on! TEXAS Props to Momo, Matt, Tomas, Julliette, Benoit the whole crew that treated us to the red carpet! Back to the review, Ben tore himself up he could barely walk. He lived up to his Capt Gnar Gnar nickname, THAT’S FOR SURE!!! He didn’t make the 12 cut, however little Pineiro made the cut @ 7th. On Sunday the level of skating was raised. EVERYBODY skated hard and fast. It was a tuff call to judge. Embassy congrats to New Hamshires, Nolan Munroe for taking 1st over Milton Martinez from Brazil. Nolan hadn’t even attempted a 540 in practice or tell anyone he would try one. HE PULLED IT OFF on 2nd try over the hip in the deep end. He kept his 540 in Stealth mode until it was time to unleash it, talk about strategy!! Steven skated smooth, did alot of his tech and lip tricks and did not attempt a 5. Congrats to Steven for coming in 5th overall. Embassy would like to congradulate Alex Sorgente for coming in 3rd, Way to go Alex!! The Master’s had Jason Park take the top honor. It was cool sharing apartments with Sean Goff and Jim the Skin, It was fun packed week of adventure, killer skating, good times, old friends, new friends, Hanging and skating with everybody. Thanks to the WCS crew, Don, Dave, Sasha, Jen, Mica. you guys ROCK!!! The crew that took us to Valmante and the La Caverne on Monday, much respect!!! Next year Embassy plans to do all the European tour which includes after Marseille, Rome, UK and finishes off in Prague Chech Republic. Below are a few pics. SKATE TUFF OR GO HOME!!! RIDE WITH PRIDE
