Embassy would like to thank World Cup Skateboarding, ESPN and FUELTV for inviting Steven Pineiro to this years Xgames 16 and The Maloof Money Cup. Steven took up the offer and accepted the invite although he would say, “riding bowls is more his arena”. He KILLED the VERT RAMP @ XGames & the Maloof. 4th place for the games on his first trip was RAD!! He did melon 5′s, indy 5′s, stalefish 5′s, eggplants, lip trick’s, huge frontside Alley-oop’s, big backside airs. He had fun with it! in the Maloof Money Cup, he finished 3rd, received a few bucks, and got a black cup w/ alot of bling on it. CONGRATS STEVEN!
Ben Johnson was on hand the whole time along with Priscilla Lee and her little brother Alex. We got to skate EVERYDAY, sometimes 3-4 different spots a day. Everywhere from Ben Butler’s backyard sickness of a Pool, to the Costa Mesa YMCA Vert Ramp, to the Venice Skatepark, (Thanks Dan and the crew @ JUICE), Dave Reul’s Skateranch, Volcom Skatepark in Costa Mesa, The Combi, and everywhere in-between. Thanks to all the people who gave a helping hand. The Lee Family, The Russell’s, Savannah & Gage Boan, Barry & Kelsey Millay. The trip was RAD. We’ll be back!! Now it’s off to Oregon for the Tri-Fecta!!

It was that time of year again. The Protec Pool Party 2010. This year the list of participants was very exclusive, perfectly fitting Embassy Team Captain Ken Fillion was in the mix. It was a good time as usual. Seeing Grosso, Lance, and the Master of Disaster, Duane Peters this year was sick. All 3 had an impact in the outcome. Grosso’s 28 block boardslide was TOTAL sickness. Duane threw it down Old School. His frontside rocker’s were Classic Stlye. Congrats to Stevie Caballero for taking the Master’s, He deserved it. Bucky Lasek took the Pro’s division for the 2nd year in a row. HE THREW IT DOWN!!! The level of skating was 100% top shelve. Big EMBASSY shout out to fellow Texan’s Ben Raybourn and Bryan Pennington, you cats represented STRONG, from Josh Rodriguez to Pedro Barros, to Cara Beth holding her own with the Master’s. On any given day the results might have been different, since it’s always subjective to who’s judging, what era they come from, and what their looking for. Van Doren summed it all up at the skater rider’s meeting, “THIS IS A PARTY” he said. We’re all here to have FUN. Yeah, the competition is heated, yes you’d all like to win the money, but we’re here to have a party and a good time. With that said Props out to Steve Van Doren & the whole Van’s Staff, The World Cup, Don Bostick, Dave Duncan, Jenn, everybody involved. It just gets better and better. Next year the whole EMBASSY crew will be there representing STRONG. Until next time, over-n-out, RIDE WITH PRIDE!!! GO SKATE!!!!
